Joe has over 30 years’ experience as a town planner and has developed a reputation as the “troubleshooter” of difficult or troublesome planning applications that are yet to be determined or where processing has stalled.
Joe has a great level of previous experience within Local and State Government. In his last government position, Joe was Appeals Coordinator for the Western Australian Planning Commission. This was followed by founding and co-directing Property Planning & Appeals Consultants where he worked as a consultant on hundreds of planning applications and appeals throughout the state.
Privately, Joe is an avid musician who enjoys family life with his 3 young daughters and also maintains on-going interests in his family’s farming enterprises.
Ben is a qualified town planner and joined Altus Planning in November 2012. Ben has over 11 years’ experience dealing and managing complex project-based applications for industrial, mining, manufacturing, rural development and large residential units.
His expertise also includes preparation of structure plans and scheme amendments, as well as undertaking development assessments, both on behalf of applicants and local governments.
Ben has also previously provided expert planning evidence and representation services at SAT, including the preparation of all associated documents.
Ben has a young family and is a keen sportsman in his spare time.
Jayden has recently joined Altus Planning as a qualified town planner with over 3 years’ experience specifically in Local Government, both in the regional and metropolitan area. Jayden has extensive experience in assessing residential, rural and industrial applications, subdivision clearances, and has also attended design review panel and Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) meetings.
Jayden considers himself to be a big AFL and F1 fanatic.
Jack joined Altus Planning with over a year of experience at the City of Nedlands as a planning officer. Jack has previously dealt with the preparation and management of single house and grouped dwellings applications, subdivision clearances, and third-party submissions.
Jack has recently assisted the Director in the preparation of Grounds for Review and Minute of Consent documents, Statement of Issues, Fact and Contentions and s24 bundles for SAT related matters.
Outside of work, Jack enjoys surfing in his free time and loves a long mac.
Lilian joined Altus Planning in October 2022 after graduating with a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. Working for and on behalf of both private and Local Government clients, she has experience in due diligence research and provision of planning advice, preparation of planning justification reports, scheme amendments, undertaking development application assessments, preparation of Council Reports and SAT related documentation.
Lilian has prior internship experience with the City of Vincent and was involved with the City of Vincent William Street Place Plan, a strategic document which involved collection of observational data, surveys, GIS mapping, analysing Spend Mapp data and providing recommendations for the place plan.
On her days off, Lilian enjoys exploring new places and considers herself to be a bit of a "foodie".
Simon Beal of Development Cartographics has been preparing all of Altus Planning’s plans since the commencement of the business. Simon has over 25 years’ experience in design and drafting with a speciality focus on subdivision applications.
